After a gloriously mild winter and a blissfully warm March,
the recent flurry of April showers have come as rude awakening that I do, in
fact, live in England, a land made green and pleasant by rain, rain and more
rain. As much as I love waxing lyrical about the romance of the rain there comes
a point where it starts to get too much, I actually shook my fist at the sky a
few days ago!
Over the past few weeks I have made a new best friend in my umbrella and tried to retreat under a cosy blanket of domesticity as much as possible: a comfortable cycle of crochet, sewing and baking while wearing knitwear and slippers.
My favourite baking assistant was on-hand to help me make
these cinnamon-coffee cupcakes this weekend. He can ice a mean cake and even lets me
lick the bowl.

What cute little cupcakes. Looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteI ate far too many :-)
DeleteAh, I know what you mean about the rain, it has been positively biblical. Like you I hid indoors for the most of it, though my time was not spent in such an idyllic manner as yours - those cupcakes look great!
ReplyDeletehehe there was a lot of tv and junk food too - I just didn't mention that ;-)
